URGENT: WRITE TO MPs and ask them to vote AGAINST Johnson’s deal

As you almost certainly know, Mr Johnson and the EU have reached agreement on an arrangement for leaving the EU.  Johnson’s sell out deal would be catastrophic for the economy and for the union of the UK.

This week, MPs will vote on whether to accept this dreadful deal.  If they vote to accept it, then UK leaves the EU with all the disastrous consequences that brings.  We need MPs to vote AGAINST Johnson’s sell out deal.

The vote in Parliament is likely to be incredibly close.  The result will depend on the votes of a small number of MPs who have not decided how they will vote.

We may be able to influence these MPs by emailing them.  The more emails they receive, demonstrating that people do not want Johnson’s sell out deal, the more likely they are to vote against it.

So, we’re asking ALL our supporters to WRITE to ALL these MPs.

Below, we’ve provided the email addresses of two groups of MPs and suggested text for an email to each group.

It’s better to send separate emails to each MP, rather than copying them all on the same email.  At the same time, the text can be the same.

Whether you’re coming on the March on Saturday or not, it’s VITAL that you WRITE to these MPsYour email could MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REMAINING AND LEAVING.

DO IT NOW!

Subject line: Please vote AGAINST Boris Johnson’s deal

Text:  The deal that Boris Johnson has agreed with the EU27 is incredibly damaging for the economy and for the union of the UK.  It

  • Separates Northern Ireland from the rest of the UK
  • Risks the union of the UK.  This alone should be enough for any current or former member of the Conservative and Unionist Party to vote against it
  • For the rest of the UK, is an even harder version of Brexit than the deal that Theresa May agreed.  Therefore, it will cause even more economic harm.  According to the Government’s own estimates, earlier this week, it would cost each person in the UK £2000 per annum
  • Creates a very high risk that England, Wales and Scotland crash out without a deal by default.  The deal agreed today allows for a transition to the end of 2020, extendable by up to a maximum of two years.  If no FTA is agreed by the end of that period, the default is that England, Wales and Scotland leave without a deal.  And that time period is far shorter than any significant trade deal usually takes to negotiate and agree. So, if you want to avoid No Deal, you must vote AGAINST this deal.

Even the Ulster Unionist Party now agree that this deal is worse than remaining in the EU.

Please vote AGAINST it when it comes before Parliament this week.

LABOUR and EX-LABOUR MPs

The second group is a group of Labour and ex-Labour MPs who tempted to support a deal.  The full list of these MPs and their email addresses:

  • Separates Northern Ireland from the rest of the UK and so risks the union of the UK
  • For the rest of the UK, is an even harder version of Brexit than the deal that Theresa May agreed.  Therefore, it will cause even more economic harm and cost even more jobs.  This harm would be felt the hardest in the very communities that the Labour Party exists to represent and serve.
  • Does NOT protect workers’ rights, and product and environmental standards because it has moved the UK commitment from the legally binding Withdrawal Agreement to the non-binding Political Declaration
The Labour Party has spent 119 years fighting for workers’ rights, better jobs, rising living standards, and better protections for working people and the least well-off.  Johnson’s sell out deal risks all of these achievements.

Please vote AGAINST it when it comes before Parliament this week.
